Personal:

73 years-young, single man. Born in Baltimore, Maryland where Francis Scott Key wrote the poem that became the words of our national anthem.

Loving, dedicated son and brother. Uncle to 19 nieces and nephews.

Profession:

Self-employed licensed insurance agent since 1975. Specialize in helping more than 500 clients with their health insurance, Medicare Supplement and long-term care insurance. Almost $3 million has been paid out for the cost of long-term care services for my clients so far.

Professional designations: Registered Health Underwriter, Fellow of the Life Underwriters Training Council, Advanced Chartered Benefit Consultant and Medicare Supplement Accredited Advisors.

Taught courses in these subjects to other insurance agents.

Field Auditor, Pennsylvania Auditor General’s Department from 1977 through 1984. Financial and compliance audits of state-owned colleges, universities, hospitals, and prisons.

Author, Screenwriter and Producer:

Ross and his late mom.

Author of My Million Dollar Mom which chronicles my mother’s remarkable and inspiring life and the time I took care of her when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, a form of dementia, in her final two years.

In memory and in gratitude to my mother, I established a donor advised fund at the Montgomery County Foundation to help fund animal rescue and service animal non-profit organizations as well providing assistance to low-income residents for the medical care of their pets.
With the sponsorship of the Maple Glen Community Association, I director the annual Shirley’s Run and Dog Walk for many years which raised money for the donor advised fund. www.shirleysrun.org

 

 

 

 

 

 

Civil Air Patrol:

Ross and Michele Taylor in Civil Air Patrol

Cadet member and achieved the rank of Cadet Major. Served as Squadron Commander of the 60 cadets of Squadron 902 at Upper Dublin High School. Participated in rescue missions of missing children and downed aircraft and their pilots.

Won the competition of the International Air Cadet Exchange and represented the USA on a 1971 trip to the Nation of Israel.

 

Religious Faith of Judaism:

Bar Mitzvah (Son of the Commandments) at age 13

Confirmation at age 16

Served as Men’s Club President and Congregation Board member at Rodeph Shalom in Philadelphia, PA and then at Keneseth Israel in Elkins Park, PA

Mid-Central Regional President (Eastern and Central Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, Binghamton, New York, and Delaware), National Federal of Temple Brotherhoods now the Men of Reform Judaism

Raised funds for the Jewish Chautauqua Society which educates non-Jews about Judaism to dispel antisemitism.

Runner:

Ross running a 10 miler

Ran cross country and track in high school and cross country in college

Competed in more than 200 marathons including qualifying and competing in the prestigious Boston Marathon

Best high school mile time – 4:57

Best marathon time – 2 hours and 57 minutes, 1978 Boston Marathon.

Still running. “I am not getting older. I am just getting slower.”
